Drinking Coffee May Reduce Breast Cander Risk!
Yes! Finally, some validation for me to continue drinking as much coffee as I do daily. (i'm an addict.)
On average, I used to have 4 to 5 cups of coffee a day, but lately, I have been reducing it to around 3 or so, just because I've been worried about some other health issues from drinking that much daily.
But according to a new study released in the January 2006 issue of International Journal of Cancer, led by Dr. Steven A. Narod, of the University of Toronto, Ontario, and colleagues, found these results:
The risk of breast cancer among those who drank 1 to 3 cups of coffee daily, 4 or 5 cups, or 6 or more cups was reduced by 10 percent, 25 percent and 69 percent, respectively, compared with those who did not drink coffee.
Drinking coffee was particularly protective against breast cancer among those with a BRCA1 mutation, but not those with a BRCA2 mutation.
